I began my career in 1983 when I started a State Registered Nursing course at the North Staffordshire Royal infirmary. I qualified in 1986 and worked on a respiratory ward as a staff nurse. I then went to work as a general practice nurse and school nurse within Stoke on Trent.
I studied hard and gained a university diploma, degree and Masters in the teaching of professional Education. I also studied to be an extended nurse prescriber. I completed my career slightly prematurely (due to ill health) as a nurse lecturer at Keele University.
I have loved every job I have had and I have met some amazing people from ages 0 to 100 plus and I hold each of them dearly in my heart.
I have three amazing married children and 6 gorgeous grandchildren. My interests are travel, writing books, reading non-fiction novels and spending time with my family.
