Our vision
To be recognised as a leading local charity and vital contributor to the improvement of community health and education, by facilitating medical research through a unique grants programme achieved from sustainable funding.
Our mission
We will be an increasingly vibrant and sustainable provider of quality medical and scientific research grants. We will promote our continuing success to both the local and wider community in order to create new partnerships which will leverage additional income in order to increase and expand our future grants programme. The Institute’s Conference Centre facility will be run as a cost effective educational and networking resource for the community.

How the Foundation is run
The Foundation is overseen by a voluntary board of trustees drawn from medicine, business and the local community, supported by a small staff team and the income generated by the Wade Conference Centre.
Why is our Charity important?
The research we fund targets the health and well-being of local people. We fund studies that target the health conditions, treatments and services required to improve patient outcomes. We want our funded research to develop local health professionals and health scientists to reduce health inequalities in our locality and beyond, and we want our charity and research to make this area an attractive environment for our young, gifted health professionals and scientists to want to develop in or region.
What we do?
Our principal activity as the Wade Charitable Foundation is the annual research grant programme, which uses a research committee to select the best research proposals to fund across our region. Whilst those directly affected by the research are our priority, we also consider how we can support our talent pool of health professionals and scientists across the region.
